Letter of the Day: No smoking?

I went to pick up my 9-year-old daughter the other day at one of the summer programs Naples has to offer.

Much to my dismay I was greeted at Fleischmann Park by two 15-year-old kids smoking.

They were perched at the entrance of the center, in full view of the children taking advantage of the programs we so dearly trust they will enjoy.

These are not only minors smoking, but in full view of impressionable 4- to 11-year-olds.

Heed a warning, parents: The center is not a drop-off place for teens so they can hang out while you are at work during the day.

Heed a warning, city workers: The signs you post — No Pets, No Alcohol in the Park — should also read: No Smoking in the Park!
