Miracle top Yankees, 3-2

For the second straight outing, Fort Myers starter Josh Hill matched up against an All-Star pitcher in Tampa’s Brett Smith. Hill, making his second spot start of the season, matched Smith pitch for pitch in the Miracle’s 3-2 win Thursday night.

Hill pitched five effective innings, allowing just two hits and giving up an unearned run to pick up his fourth win of the year.

The bullpen did the rest, with Colby Miller tossing two perfect innings of relief and Tim Lahey picking up his fourth save.

The teams meet tonight in the rubber game of the series, with Fort Myers sending lefty Justin Jones to the hill against Tampa’s Phil Coke.
