Naples High graduate Carmen Cali, who pitched for the Cardinals periodically in 2004 and 2005, was sent from Class AAA Memphis to Class AA Springfield, Mo., in the Texas League on June 21. Cali, a left-handed reliever, was 1-4 with no saves and a 5.60 ERA in Memphis. He allowed 32 hits, walked 19 and struck out 19 in 27 innings. He gave up five homers.
So far at Springfield, Cali is 0-0 with a 7.71 ERA in four appearances.
