The North Naples Little League 9-10 year-old baseball all-stars defeated Greater Naples, 7-3, on Monday in the District 18 Tournament. A rain delay forced the game to be relocated to Starcher-Pettay Field. Once the teams began play, North Naples pitcher Jordan Conway put on a solid performance.
The defensive play of mid-infielders Grif McCormick and Christian Tormey and consistent offensive production from Harry Ayers and Ben Huber led to the victory. North Naples rallied back from a 5-1 deficit against San Carlos Park to take an 8-7 win in extra innings during the second game Tuesday night at Golden Gate National, which is also the site of the District 18 tournament. With the two consecutive wins, North Naples is the No. 1 seed in pool B and will face off with the No. 2 seed of pool A Friday Night.
