Florida Gulf Coast University sophomore pitcher Rachael Edinger has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-South Region first team.
A transfer from Polk Community College, Edinger (26-6) was 1-2 during the Eagles' first-ever regional tournament in her hometown of Lakeland during games played Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The Eagles went 58-9 on the season and Edinger pitched a team-high 212 innings. In just one season, Edinger holds the school's strikeouts mark with 256. She posted an ERA of 0.79 in 35 appearances.
