Consummate shoppers crave the feeling they get from finding a good buy. It's the satisfaction of bringing home more for less and ferreting out something special. Such shoppers often spend days at the mall, but outlet shopping has become a way of life for many others.
These shoppers like the outlets because they are similar to a mall without the higher prices. Like the mall experience, outlet shops are diverse so many items came be purchased at one location. And with the ever-increasing cost of gasoline, outlet locations are often close by and one-stop shopping makes sense.
Prime Outlets Naples, 6060 Collier Blvd., is just a few miles from Marco Island. Prime Outlets advertises its chain as one of the tops in the country. Its strategy is diversity in store selections and high-quality name-brand products.
Twenty-six shops at the Naples outlet are geared toward clothing with big names such as Jones New York, Liz Claiborne and Bon Worth. Four stores are geared to health and beauty, including a yet-to-be-opened day spa, four are housewares, and four luggage and accessories. The rest are specialty shops or restaurants.
Several furniture stores offer trendy, offbeat selections including one very different store call Teak Imports — USA. Collins & Collins has an excellent golf equipment outlet and Harry and David will ship fruit from its store.
A day at Prime Outlets Naples offers a shopping experience with all the relevant pluses: great stores, excellent prices and special buying power incentives.
From now until Dec. 31, 2006, those who are passionate about shopping can stop by guest services and receive a Power Savings Coupon Book or join Prime Outlet's 1Card club discounts.
The discount book features cash or percent-off incentives at some of the best brand-name stores: 20 percent off Bass, Izod or Geoffrey Beene purchases including sales items; 10 percent off a single-item purchase at Mikasa; 20 percent off any single item at Van Heusen; $10 off a $50 or more purchase at Dress Barn and so on.
Coupons even cover a buy-one-get-one free offer on soft serve ice cream or yogurt at Naples Bread Company Bakery and Café.
With the 1Club card shoppers are offered exclusive weekly bargains on brand name merchandise. The card is good at any Prime Outlets location including the four in Florida: Naples, Florida City, Orlando and St. Augustine. Shoppers can get the card at no cost at guest services or check on the Web site primeoutlets.com for a card and weekly specials.
Guest services provides strollers and oversees two sets of restrooms. Parking is plentiful for a one-store trip or to walk the strip and browse.
There is only one restaurant in the Naples facility and seems to be its drawback. A better selection of food services could add to the convenience and enjoyment of a day's shopping.
