The Marco Island Eagles youth football program received $4,675 from the Orange Bowl Foundation in support of its five teams on Saturday.
The Foundation is part of the Orange Bowl Youth Football Program. The Eagles play in one of its eight leagues, the Miami Xtreme Youth Football League.
The Eagles received $2,175 for expenses and equipment and another $2,500 to assist in sponsoring kids who play on the teams and their equipment, Mike Snyder, Eagles commissioner, said. Each player pays $155 to participate, which also helps cover costs of uniforms and equipment.
