Martin G. Braun, born Dec. 26, 1950 in Adrian, Mich., to Richard and Dorothy (Gilbert) Bruan, died Friday. He graduated in the Adrian High School Class of 1969, then went on to serve with honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Braun graduated from the Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago in 1978. He married Stephanie (Joy) Potts of Battle Creek, Mich., on Sept. 27, 1986.
Braun owned and operated M.G. Braun Funeral Home in Brooklyn, Mich., and Jenter-Braun Funeral Home in Manchester, Mich.
He moved to Marco Island in 2000, where he worked as a Realtor for Prudential Florida WCI on Marco Island.
Martin is survived by his wife, Stephanie (Joy), daughter, Jessica, who currently is attending the University of Florida in Gainesville, daughter, Kelsey, who is still at home, parents Richard and Dorothy Braun of Marco Island, sisters Cindy Braun of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Carol (John) Cordes of Rockford, Mich., brother Keith (Sheryl) Braun of Marco Island, his best friend, Jake, along with several nieces and nephews.
Braun was a member of F & AM Lodge 148 of Manchester, Mich., the United Church of Marco, the National Board of Realtors, the Marco Board of Realtors and a past member of the Michigan Funeral Directors Association.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fuller Funeral Home, 4735 Tamiami Trail East, in Naples. Burial will be in the Ft. Custer National Cemetary in Battle Creek, Mich.
