Throw superstition to the wind for an evening of elegance, gaming and entertainment from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m, April 13. Monte Carlo on Marco will provide Islanders and other guests an evening to remember.
“It’s not often enough that Islanders have the opportunity to dress up and have a moderately cost evening of sheer fun,” said Dave Rice, an event’s committee member.
This black-tie-optional evening begins at the steps of 851 San Marco Road, where guests will enter between two vintage Rolls Royce motor cars, travel the red carpet as Hollywood stars and receive the four-star treatment by the doorman as they enter the doors into this specially decorated “casino.”
At the start of the night, all registered guests will receive $10,000 in chips, a glass of champagne and slot machine tokens to get into the spirit of the gaming — 15 professional gambling tables, a jazz band, hors d’oeuvres, a buffet table and a generous amount of gaming fun will be offered for all those who attend.
The more you win, the greater of an opportunity you will have to win even more. As the gambling tables close, guests can cash in chips for tickets in the drawing. As prizes are displayed, ticket holders can enter to win them in random drawings. There will be several prizes awarded, including a four-day trip on Carnival Cruise (in the owner’s suite no less), a vacation week at a waterfall mountain retreat in North Carolina, a piece of jewelry by Harbor Goldsmith, a painting by Malenda Trick, and gift certificates to the work-out center Curves for Women, Stonewood Tavern and Grill, Crazy Flamingo, Bopie’s Diner and others.
Also included among the prizes is a sunset cruise from Don Mills, a three-hour house cleaning by Total Home Services, a fishing trip by Capt. Wright Taylor, service inspection by Southern Comfort Air, a Sunset Cruise on the Anna Monica by Capt. Geoff Fahringer and Anna Pusz, a one-hour massage and various gift baskets donated by local businesses.
The event is hosted by the Marco Island Sunrise Rotary Club. Tickets are offered at $85 per person and can be purchased at Interiors, Interiors, Interiors, 938 N. Collier Blvd., and Curves for Women, 1829 San Marco Road in the Shops of Marco, or, call the event chairman, Jerry Gibson, (239) 821-0324.
