In the April 18 edition of the Eagle, a letter writer complained about the number and proximity of the newly installed light poles on Collier Boulevard. I would like to vehemently disagree with this letter writer. I enjoy both the look of the new light poles as well as the wonderful illumination that they supply.
These poles offer an element of safety and an excellent entrance onto our beautiful island. I commend our city manager and the council for their excellent choice.
It is so curious that some Marco Islanders feel that they know far more than the professionals we have elected to represent us. I wish these folks would allow the professionals to do their jobs and discontinue their incessant complaining. Their divisive actions have gotten stale a very long time ago.
Finally, I would also like to congratulate letter writer Suzanne Henry (April 18). Her letter clearly summarized the disruptive and destructive nature of the MICs (Marco Island Complainers). She truly hit the nail squarely on the head!
