2000 champion Lanny Wadkins, Dave Stockton and Mark McNulty withdrew from this week's ACE Group Classic on Monday. Wadkins and Stockton, 65, did not give a reason, while McNulty, 53, has been bothered by back problems. This is the third straight week McNulty has withdrawn, tournament director Jason Camp said.
The withdrawals put Ed Dougherty, Mark Johnson and Massy Kuramoto in the field. Dougherty is a former professional at Wyndemere Country Club in Naples. The news also was good for Kuramoto, who shot a 76 earlier Monday and failed to get through the qualifier at West Bay Club.
Craig Stadler, the 2004 champion, remains in the field. Stadler withdrew from the Champions Tour event in Tampa after Saturday's round with a wrist injury.
