Fashion show audition
Auditions for students ages 6-26 to model for a back-to-school fashion show will take place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at the Miromar Outlets, 10801 Corkscrew Road (near Subway and the Bear Mill), Estero. Bring a 4-by-6" headshot. The fashion show will be held at noon Aug. 4 at the restaurant piazza.
Wine tasting
A wine tasting will be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday at the Carlisle Naples, 6945 Carlisle Court, Naples. Food to complement the wine will be served and wine questions will be answered by Johnson Brothers Wine Distributors staff. Free. Reservations required. Information: 591-2200
Girl Scout awards
Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida Inc. recognized the following Naples residents: Dawn Cannavino, Colleen Sullivan Gonzalez and Tammy Rogero, outstanding leaders; Natasha Sorrell and Amy Valentine, outstanding volunteers; Lee McPherson, 40-year pin; Sandra Lacefield, 20-year pin; and Tammy Finley and Holly Yoders, 15-year pin.
Achievements and accolades
Jessica Duregger was the winner of the Norman Love Confections Mother’s Day contest. Duregger, her husband and daughters created their own flavored chocolate at the Norman Love chocolate salon.
Joseph A. Indelicato of Naples was named to the 2007 spring semester dean’s list at the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pa.
Jake Minor of Naples will participate in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference to be held in Washington, D.C.
Sean M. Spellberg of Naples has been selected for membership into the National Society of High School Scholars. Spellberg is a student at the Community School of Naples.
Dominika Ujlaky, daughter of Joe Ujlaky and Elizabeth Ujlaky-Kriz, both of Naples, was awarded a Jarchow Scholarship during the Honors Day Convocation at Carleton College. The scholarships, named for the former dean of men Merrill E. "Casey" Jarchow, are awarded to outstanding second year resident assistants who demonstrate leadership, integrity, love of the institution and people of Carleton.
Adam Zhang was chosen to be part of the 2007 AT&T Youth Ensembles in the Florida International Festival. Zhang plays the violin and is a student at the Community School of Naples.
