As the Marco Eagle celebrates its 40th year of publishing, we continue to evolve with the community’s needs.
Over the years, the Marco Eagle has changed its format and frequency, but our mission has always remained the same — to provide relevant news and information to our readers and superior value to our advertisers.
You are accustomed to the Marco Eagle publishing five days a week, offering a variety of monthly and periodic custom products, and providing 24/7 news on our award-winning marconews.com. With a growing base of over 300,000 page views each month, marconews.com is the online leader of constantly updated news for the Island community.
We converted to the five-day frequency in July of 2006. While the majority of reader and advertiser feedback has been favorable, data we have compiled over the last 18 months concludes:
• Advertisers overwhelmingly choose and support the Wednesday and Friday publications.
• From a news standpoint, marconews.com has strengthened its role as the provider of daily breaking news.
• Marco Eagle print edition can be vastly improved with more in-depth news and quality features.
Webified
• A Wednesday, Friday, Sunday publishing schedule will better serve our readers and advertisers.
Consequently, we will begin publishing two editions per week (Wednesday and Friday) beginning next week. Residents will continue to enjoy the same free home delivery and distribution they are accustomed to on those days.
On Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, we will introduce a third edition that I know you will find very attractive and exciting. More information on that product will be available soon.
As always, the Marco Eagle and marconews.com appreciate your support, input and guidance as we progress in meeting your needs.
Yours in Paradise,
Bob Sandy,
General manager, Marco Eagle, marconews.com.
