Photographer captures Marco Island's beauty from the skies

The skies over Marco Island provide a post card view every day.

On one occasion when Eagle photographer Roger LaLonde went up to take aerial photos to show the beauty and history of Marco Island, he and pilot Tom Leroy were joined by another plane. Actually, it was an aerial-acrobatic pilot who had a little fun with the Piper Cub, flying near enough to give LaLonde a clear shot. Story: View from above: Still flying high (10-07-07)

The Eagle has taken advantage of the island’s beauty by photographing and having the column, View From Above on Mondays.

Already displayed have been Goodland, Isles of Capri, new City Police Department, First Baptist Church and Raddison under demolition.

In weeks ahead you will see the YMCA, Cape Romano, Keewaydin Island and more.

Thanks goes to Tom Leroy, a friend of the photographer, who takes him up in his Piper Cub.
