The Gutierrez family of Marco Island needs your help. Four weeks ago this Saturday, Diego Gutierrez, husband, father of three kids under the age of six and primary breadwinner for the family, was attacked late at night on the island. Gutierrez sustained serious injuries, including the loss of his eye, which has required him to be out of work.
Gutierrez has worked at Hoot’s on the island for over 5 years now, starting when it was under previous ownership. Bruce Hayne, owner of Hoot’s says Gutierrez is a super guy, who never missed work.
“I’m telling you honestly, Gutierrez is a super chef, a hard working guy and this is his main source of income. The family needs help paying for living expenses and medical bills until he can get back to work again. Our number one priority is in helping his family.”
If you’d like to make a donation, Hoot’s on Elkcam Circle has a wishing well out front for coins and a dollar donation area inside the building. Tommie Barfield Elementary also has a wishing well on-site.
