Wow! What a great time everyone had at the Taste of Marco held last Sunday at the Esplanade.

Myles Loud’s show was fantastic at the main stage and D.J. Tony D, of Jukebox Productions, entertained with his library of classic oldies.

The capacity crowd had a fine time and a huge thank you to all the participants and especially the volunteers who helped make this annual event a success. All proceeds from the event go right to the Marco Island YMCA. Again, thank you!

The buzz going on at the YMCA pertains to Summer Camp 2008 and all the specialty camps that will be held through out the summer. Summer camp 2008 is scheduled to run for 11 weeks and all the fun and excitement begins June 2. Each week has a theme for the K-2 grades and the 3 to 6 grades.

The theme for the first week is “Summer Safari” for the little folks and “Pizza and Pasta Week” for the older kids. I can’t wait for this week because I love my pasta!

Check out the May issue of the Eye on the Y newsletter for each specialty camp listing. Summer Camp 2008 runs through August 15. The camp hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
