Pollo Tropical opened its second Naples restaurant on Monday.
The newest location for the Miami-based, Latin/Caribbean chain is 3777 U.S. 41 East, about one mile from Airport-Pulling Road. Pollo Tropical features flame-grilled, 24-hour citrus marinated Chicken on the Grill and other menu items include Caribbean ribs, steak skewers, sweet plantains, yuca, black beans and rice.
Pollo Tropical will host a two-day, grand opening celebration on May 16 and 17, including live music, a talent contest, carnival games and prize drawings. The celebration will begin with a benefit night for the Gulfcoast Little League Baseball/Softball, with 10 percent of sales between 4 p.m. and 12 a.m. on May 16 donated to the league for equipment and uniforms.
On Saturday, 10 percent of the restaurant’s sales during the Got Talent show and competition from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. will benefit the Education Foundation of Collier.
Students ages 10 to 20 will showcase their talents, from music to dance to acrobatics, and the competition is free to enter. The top three acts will be recognized, and the winner will get $500 to put toward college tuition. To enter, pick up a form at the restaurant, contact Viktor Zapata at 407-461-1294 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for entries is May 16.
Other Pollo Tropical locations in Southwest Florida include Cape Coral and Naples at 5065 Golden Gate Parkway, just east of Santa Barbara by the Kmart plaza.
