No evidence of mold found at Marriott Marco Beach Resort

An inspector with the state Department of Business and Professional Regulation found no evidence of mold or condensation in three rooms at the Marriott Marco Beach Resort following a complaint received last week from a hotel guest.

The inspection involved the guest’s room on the 10th floor of the hotel’s north tower and two other rooms, on the seventh and fifth floor. The inspection took place Aug. 13.

The complaint was lodged by a Palm Beach resident who stayed at the resort from Aug. 1-3 with his family and complained all four of them had been exposed to something growing on the closet ceiling and air conditioner vent, which required antibiotic treatment.

The hotel moved the family members to an upgraded suite and did not charge them for their stay.
