MICA will host its first annual Family Fun Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, at the Marco Island Residents’ Beach. There will be live entertainment, games and treats for the kids, and hamburgers and hot dogs fired up on the grill. A good, old-fashioned picnic is planned at the Residents’ Beach.
J. Robert will be front and center on his fiddle and will be performing with a few other local musicians. They are gearing up to play some extra special songs for their fellow islanders.
A fantastic round of games is planned for the children. Tug of war, hoola-hoop contests, super-size Frisbee toss, and fastest boy and fastest girl races are all on the list as well as a fun game of beach volleyball. Get ready for some fun!
The Marco Island Kiwanis Club will also be offering islanders a chance to win a mini-vacation in a luxurious 2-bedroom, 2-bath fully-furnished condo for only five dollars! The winner can choose four days, three nights at Hilton Grand Vacations Club in Orlando, Miami-South Beach or the Flamingo in Las Vegas! The drawing will be at 3 p.m. at Residents’ Beach. The winner does not have to be present. Tickets are only $5 each or five for $20. You can buy tickets at Residents’ Beach or call raffle chairman Brian Barcic at 394-3925 or 293-3935. You can also buy tickets from any Kiwanis Club member or online at www.kiwanisclubofmarcoisland.org. You could win a fantastic getaway and help children at the same time! All proceeds from ticket sales go to Marco Island Kiwanis’ programs for kids — including college scholarships.
Residents’ Beach members should bring their beach IDs in order to enter. If you’re not a Residents’ Beach member, but you are a resident of Marco Island, this is your chance to see what you’ve been missing. Come by the MICA office today with one of the following documents that shows your Marco Island street address: property tax statement, lease agreement, one of the homeowners’ insurances, or your driver’s license. We’ll give you a special pass for Family Fun Day because we are so sure you’ll want to become a member yourself!
