MARCO ISLAND The National Hurricane Center says the center of Tropical Storm Fay has made landfall just east of Marco Island. Police and Fire personnel are reporting significant road flooding.
The typical low lying areas are flooded with significant flooding on the south end of Marco Island near Swallow Avenue.
Many roads are impassable. Storm debris is on many roads and caution additional safety concerns. Two traffic lights are out - one at Barfield at Collier Blvd and Barfield at San Marco Road.
There are reports of power outages and winds continue at 30 mph with gusts upward to 40 mph. The City is working on providing updated information as the public safety and public works Departments gather data during this time.
