When the Kansas City Chiefs face the Miami Dolphins at 7:30 Saturday at Dolphin Stadium, it will mark a homecoming for Lely High grad Steve Octavien.
Octavien, who stood out despite battling injuries at Nebraska the past three years, is an undrafted rookie looking to make the Chiefs as a reserve linebacker.
Octavien, who was signed by Kansas City shortly after the NFL Draft in April, has made four tackles in the team’s first two preseason games. He wears No. 96 and is listed as a backup to Demorrio Williams at left outside linebacker.
After tonight, the Chiefs have only one more tuneup before opening the regular season Sept. 7. They must trim their roster to 75 players by Tuesday; the final cutdown date is next Saturday, with rosters trimmed to 53.
