The Naples fire department announced today that it is again hosting its holiday toy drive in conjunction with the River Park Community Center.

Toys are being distributed between 6 p.m and 8 p.m. on Friday to needy children in the River Park and Gordon River neighborhoods, Naples Police and Fire Department spokesman Michael Herman said.

"Santa Clause will be riding on a fire truck and, with the assistance of some of our firefighters, will be passing out the toys," Herman said.

The department still needs toys for children up to age 16.

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off through Friday afternoon at Fire Station 1, 835 Eighth Ave. S. (next to Naples City Hall), Fire Station 2, 977 26th Ave. N. (behind Blockbuster), and the police and fire department, 355 Riverside Circle.
