MARCO ISLAND — Due to inclement weather, the concert 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Veterans’ Community Park on Elkcam Circle has moved to the Marco Island Charter Middle School gym on Trinidad Avenue.
The Christmas Island Style event is held to appreciate Island veterans who helped secure our nation so we could enjoy the holidays.
The Holiday Salute to Veterans and the community concert will feature the Marco Island Charter Middle School performing band and will thank all veterans while giving particular recognition to the Island’s youngest and oldest veterans.
“We’ll be speaking to the commitment the veterans make to the nation to make sure we enjoy these holidays,” said Christams Island Style Chairman Steve Stefanides.
The concert will be approximately one hour.
The move to the new venue delays what would have been the inaugural event for Island veterans and the community to congregate in the park, which is their name sake, Veterans’ Community Park.
Instead this third annual event will move to the school.
