Marco Island’s newly formed Rental Housing Advisory Committee will meet for the first time Wednesday in the training room of the Marco Island Fire Rescue Department, at 1280 San Marco Road.
It marks the official start of the committee that will be tasked with recommending rules to the City Council to govern short-term rental properties, which have long plagued some full-time residents with unruly parties and out-of-control parking.
The first meeting will be marked primarily by the more technical aspects of the committee’s formation, with the members’ inductions, review of sunshine laws, election of officers, reports from city staff and discussion of the group’s mission.
Public comment will also be taken.
