Your News: Bach Ensemble sets schedule for concerts, free music appreciation workshop

The 40-voice Bach Ensemble will perform major concerts with organist, full orchestra and soloists in Bonita Springs at 3 p.m. Sunday March 2, and on Marco Island at 3 p.m. Sunday March 16. The Ensemble also will present a free public workshop on “How To Listen to Baroque Music” at 6:30 p.m. Friday March 6 in the Marco Island Public Library.

March 2 will include Handel’s “Dixit Dominus” and Mozart’s “Requiem,” in First Presbyterian Church, 9751 Bonita Beach Rd. Tickets are $20 each.

March 16 will present the Ensemble’s third annual Baroque performance of Handel’s complete “Messiah,” at United Church of Marco, 320 Barfield Dr. N. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. St. Mark’s Episcopal Church of Marco Island and United Church are co-sponsors.

Artistic director and conductor Dr. Ronald Doiron and singers will present the workshop March 6 in the Marco public library, 310 Heatherwood Dr. S. Phone 394-8367 to reserve seating.
