A woman who survived being struck by a car on Bald Eagle Drive on Marco Island is listed in fair condition at Lee Memorial hospital a few days after the accident.
Jeanne O’Hea, 69, underwent surgery for her injuries Sunday after the accident, which left her husband, Alan, 72, dead. The O’Heas, of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Marco Island, were crossing Bald Eagle Drive Sunday night when a Honda Civic driven by Luke Vergo, 23, struck them both, according to a city press release written Monday.
No charges have been filed against Vergo in Collier County Court, and a representative at the Marco Island Police Department said the report of the incident is not yet complete, and could not provide any further details.
