Car accident closes Jolley Bridge for an hour

Accident on Jolley Bridge

A head-on collision between a Cadillac sedan and a Dodge SUV shut down the Jolley Bridge for roughly an hour on Wednesday at rush hour.

The police report of the accident states that the driver of the sedan was experiencing a medical condition and swerved into the northbound lane at the crest of the bridge while trying to reach for medication.

The sedan also struck the side of another car before colliding with the Dodge.

No major injuries were reported as a result of the accident, and the driver of the sedan was treated for the illness experienced as the accident was occurring.

Damage from the accident is estimated at $6,500 for all three cars.
