Marco Island’s Joann Sanborn will be the next artist featured in Orion Bank’s Artist Appreciation Series.

Sanborn calls her work “post-impressionistic” with a focus on strong compositional arrangements combined with uncommon colors bringing a simplicity and integrity to Florida’s unique landscapes.

“My goal is to have the viewer experience the Florida landscape in a way that is exciting for them,” says Sanborn. “The Everglades are a wonderful resource and we are lucky to have this fabulous landscape available.”

Seanborn is a member of the National Association of Women Artists, the Art League of Marco Island and the Naples Art Association. Her awards and recognitions include: Award of Excellence-Founders Exhibit, von Liebig Center, Merit Award Naples Artcrafters, Judge’s Choice Art League of Marco Island, and “Best of Show” by fellow artists Naples Fine Artcrafters.

An Evening with Joann Sanborn” begins with refreshments at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Orion Bank, 605 Bald Eagle Dr., followed by an exhibition of her work and discussion time with the artist.

“How fortunate we are to have the depth of artistic talent at our fingertips who share their outstanding skills and abilities,” says Keith Dameron, VP and manager of Orion Bank.

“We believe a Marco bank must actively enhance the community it serves by using its resources to demonstrate their commitment to advise, educate and inform,” says Dameron. “As with all Orion/Marco special events, this Artist Appreciation Series is complimentary for our guests.”
