“I now pronounce you man and wife,” or do I?
In the case of Brittany Vaill and Dithson Noel the answer was no, but it made for good drama.
YMCA Senior Program Director Gina Sisbarro “married” them in a mock wedding performance before some 200 campers.
The wedding had two purposes: To honor Manatee Camp Director Irazema Guerrero who is getting married later this month and to have the campers experience a wedding and reception.
Guerrero played the mother of the groom.
The wedding party was made up of Y counselors. Stephanie Abbott was maid of honor, Brianna Blassneck, Adrianna Gonzalez and Mercedes Farhat, bridesmaids and Mike Cassio and Tori D’Amico, parents of the bride.
Dawenn Dorgile was the best man, Sammy Rigaud, Sanchez Faugue and Matt Barrett were ushers and Vince Iorio was the father of the groom.
Joshua Santil, a member of the theater camp, opposed the wedding and was quickly ushered out by members of the wedding party.
The campers heartily cheered for the wedding couple, then crammed the Airnasium floor for dancing.
