The theme for week nine of summer camp was “Wilderness.” This week was dedicated to the great outdoors of Southwest Florida.

Flora and fauna (no, not camper names) were studied in depth and the campers took part in many activities during the week that helped them learn more about the outdoors life.

Field trips for the week included travels to Golden Gate Aquatic Center and Park, Hollywood 20 for a movie, Ice Skating at Germain Arena and a special visit to the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. Next week is week 10 of summer camp (3 weeks to go). The theme will be “King Author’s Court,” and scheduled field trips include Sun ‘N Fun Lagoon, bowling at Woodside Lanes and a trip to Cambier Park.

Saturday will be the first scheduled class of “Family Saturday Snorkeling” at the “Y.”

Next week will be very busy with the scheduled start of Zoo, All Skills Volleyball, Theater, British Challenge Soccer and Advanced Guitar camps. Tuesday is the start of Strength Training Camp.
