Marco Eagles youth football and cheerleading will be closing registration for its fall season on Friday, due to the tremendous response during its early registration period.
“We will have a record number of participants for the upcoming season,” said Eagles President Greg West. “We are close to filling the Pee Wee division (7-9 years) already for football players, and have limited number of spots available for the Junior (10-12) and Senior (13-15) divisions.”
West also mentioned that reaching out to other area has brought players in from East Naples and Everglades City areas. It is expected that each team will have 20 to 25 players.
The Eagles will be playing an eight game season starting in mid-September against teams from the First Baptist Church of Naples Youth Outreach program. All games will be in Collier County.
In previous years the Marco Eagles played in the Miami Xtreme Youth Football League, resulting in a great deal of traveling during the season to the Miami area for games. During that time players per team averaged 15, or less.
Sign-ups will also continue for the Junior Trojan Football Camp to be held the weeks of June 16 and 23. Lely Head Football Coach Steve Pricer and his staff will operate the camp. To register, or for more information, visit www.marcoeagles.com or contact Greg West at 825-7592.
