Grand Theft / Dealing in stolen property

Anthony E. Hapstak, 27, of 3265 Andrews Ave., Naples, was arrested 5:15 p.m. May 21 by the Marco Island Police Department for a theft and dealing in stolen property at 149 Cyrus Street sometime between April 29 and May 2 of 2008. Estimated value of stolen property is approximately $3,550. He was transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Grand Theft

The management of Almost Famous Mel’s Restaurant reported that someone had stolen hurricane shutters from the restaurant at 657 S. Collier Blvd. sometime between 4 p.m. Sept. 1, 2007 and 2 p.m. May 23, 2008. Total estimated value of stolen property is approximately $15,000.

Resisting officer without violence / Disorderly intoxication

Officers observed two male subjects urinating outside near the back door of Fortune’s Restaurant in O’Malley’s Alley at 1:58 a.m. May 24. While approaching the subjects identified as Christopher Nygard, 30, of 1276 N. Collier Blvd. and Rodolfo Martinez, 44, of 572 5th Ave., Marco Island, officers observed them in possession of open alcohol containers. During the investigation with the two male subjects another subject, Heidi Pomerleau, 38, of Hart Neck Road, Tenants Harbor, Maine approached the officer and attempted to hinder the investigation. All three became uncooperative and a struggle ensued. The officers placed the three subjects under arrest and transported them to the Naples Jail Center. Pomerleau and Nygard were arrested for resisting an officer without violence to his or her person and Martinez was arrested for disorderly intoxication.

Crash involving damage to vehicle or property / Unlawful use of license

Defendant Mark Fazio, 33, of 1202 Edington Place B402, Marco Island, turned himself in to the Marco Island Police Department at 9:59 p.m. May 24 for a crash that occurred on May 23 in the area of 801 Elkcam Circle where he had hit a parked car and left the scene without reporting it. He was arrested and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Driving While License Suspended

An officer observed a motorcyclist operating without proper safety equipment 12:45 p.m. May 24 at 600 N. Collier Blvd. The officer conducted a traffic stop. Defendant Thomas Bundick, 34, of 1063 Hartley Ave., Marco Island, was arrested for driving while license suspended and released on a notice to appear in court.

Driving While License Suspended

Defendant Michael Grabert, 28, of 895 N Barfield Dr. was arrested on a traffic stop near 1100 Block N Collier Blvd. for driving on a suspended driver’s license 8:59 p.m. May 24. He was transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Possession of Marijuana

An officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a lot at 826 East Elkcam Circle with two occupants inside at 12:01 a.m. May 25. During the officer’s investigation of the vehicle, marijuana was found in the driver’s seat. The driver, Gabriele Terraglia, 19, of 1751 Hawaii Ct., Marco Island, was arrested and issued a notice to appear in court and released at the scene.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic offense on South Collier Blvd. 9:41 p.m. May 26. After investigation defendant Monica Grace Chavez, 20, of Yellowbird St., Marco Island, was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

DUI

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic offense near the 1300 block of N Collier Blvd 1:04 a.m. May 28. After investigation defendant Douglas Edmund Rice, 42, of 180 Tahiti Circle, Naples was placed under arrest for DUI and transported to the Naples Jail Center.
