Brian Provost, who was one of the leaders in St. John Neumann football fortunes, has accepted a scholarship to Colgate University.
Provost, was a major reason for the Celtics second straight state playoff appearance. A leader on offense and defense, Provost registered 119 tackles on defense and 885 total yards, including nine touchdowns on offense last season.
He’ll join former Barron Collier standouts Brent Dillingham, Richie Rosabella and Mike Barry as Southwest Florida products on the Colgate roster in the fall. Colgate was 7-4 finish in 2007.
Provost is the grandson of Tom Shea of Marco Island.
