NAPLES — Lyndsey Davis and Ali Barrett of Naples, Florida are organizing a charity pub crawl starting at Jack’s Bait Shack on 6-28-08 to raise money for the Breast Cancer 3-Day. Davis along with her team is joining thousands of other dedicated women and men for the Chicago Breast Cancer 3-Day, a three day, 60-mile walk benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust. In order to participate, each walker must train for the event and commit to raising a minimum of $2,200. Davis’s team must raise over $10,000 for all members to participate.
“Many walkers raise more than the minimum. In fact, event organizers report the average amount raised is $2,900,” said Davis. “With this fundraiser, Iwehope to exceed our fundraising goals. I know with Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust as beneficiaries, we’re helping to ensure funding is available for important research and community outreach programs.”
Time: 12:30pm to 10:00pm
Location: Starting point at Jack’s Bait Shack
The “Crawl 4 a Cure” event begins at Jack’s Bait Shack and relocates every hour to other local participating bars; Miller’s Ale House, South Street Grill, Boston Beer Garden, and Pelican Larry’s Uptown. To participate it requires a $50 donation/registration fee which includes a trolley ride to each bar, an event t-shirt, buffet dinner, drink specials, and door prizes.
“I decided to participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day because my Mom is a survivor of breast cancer and I wanted to do something bold to help fight the disease — and what better way than to set a goal to accomplish something challenging and rewarding,” said Davis. This will be the fourth year participating in the event with my best friend Christine Laurenzi, and the first year walking with my Mom. “I look forward to marching through the streets of Chicago with my family, my friends, and thousands of others as we raise awareness and funds for the breast cancer movement.”
In addition to attending Davis and Barrett’s fundraiser, you can also help reach their goal by making a donation directly to Davis’s online donation page or by joining her team at www.The3Day.org. Click on Donate Now, and search participant Lyndsey Davis.
