Art & music: Meet artist Inez Hudson, a vivid Plein Air painter who uses watercolors and oils, at the Meet the Artist reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on April 2 at Blue Mangrove Gallery, Marco Town Center Mall. Refreshments will be served as well as delectable local Florida Gourmet Sauce Samplings.
This event is held in conjunction with the Community Concert Series, held every Wednesday night at the Marco Town Center Mall. The Marco Island Strummers will perform happy foot stomping music from 6 to 9 p.m.

Rockin’ on 3rd Street: The Naples Music Festival will be held from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m., Sunday, April 6, on Third Street South, in downtown Naples.
The event will feature the Gin Blossoms performing “Hey Jealousy,” “Found Out About You” and “Til I Hear It From You;” and the Rembrandt’s performing the “Friends” theme song, “I’ll Be There For You.” There will also be an all-star lineup featuring former members of seven great bands: Aynsley Dunbar (Journey); Randall Hall (Lynard Skynard) Fergie Frederiksen (lead singer of Toto); Alex Ligertwood (Santana); Nick St. Nicholas and Michael Monarch (Steppenwolf); Barry Goudreau and Fran Cosmo (Boston); and special guest, Randy Meisner from The Eagles. The 1960s hit maker Gary Puckett will perform as well as Powerhouse, South Florida’s high-energy show band.
General admission tickets are $40 in advance and $50 day of the event, children age 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the NCH Whitaker Wellness Center in the Green Tree Shopping Center, the NCH Dr. John N. Books and more: The Naples Press Club presents Authors & Books Festival, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 5 and 6. This is a great opportunity to meet our local authors, pick their brains about your own publishing ideas, purchase books as gifts and for yourself, and get them autographed on the spot. Authors and publishers will exhibit on the front and rear patios of the von Liebig Art Center.
On Saturday, several of these authors will be exhibiting among the visual artists at the Naples Art Association’s “Art in the Park” show along Park Street.
