Ave Maria officials handed out all of the tickets for oratory seats at this afternoon's dedication Mass at Ave Maria's oratory. Organizers began handing out tickets around 8 a.m. this morning at the building's steps.
Those still needing tickets can get on a wait list or obtain tickets for the overflow area.
The oratory has a capacity of 1,100 and as of Friday, 900 were reserved for members and guests of the university community, organizers have said.
But Collins said the school was trying to fit as many people as possible inside.
"It's more a matter of cramming people in," he said.
The dedication Mass, celebrated by Diocese of Venice Bishop Frank Dewane, begins at 2 p.m. The Mass is the 100-foot, $24 million building's official induction into the Roman Catholic Church and all sacred celebrations can now occur inside.
Those who don't get a ticket inside the oratory can watch the dedication on closed circuit television from a tent at the foot of the building.
