Marco police briefs: May 7

Theft

Officers responded to a call at 1089 N. Collier Blvd. (Publix Supermarket) regarding a subject exiting the supermarket without paying for groceries at 3:00 p.m. April 30. Total estimated value of stolen goods is $486. The Officers conducted an investigation and located the subject a short time later. Defendant Robert James McNulty, 48 of 180 Seaview Ct. #505, Marco Island was arrested and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

DUI

An Officer observed a vehicle committing a traffic offense and conducted a stop of the vehicle at 7:01 p.m. April 27, 2100 San Marco Road. The Officer made contact with the driver and observed a strong odor of alcohol. The driver was asked to perform field sobriety tests and failed. Defendant Kurt Sipe, 56 of 1241 Fruitland Ave., Marco Island was placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

DUI

An Officer observed a vehicle committing a traffic offense and conducted a stop of the vehicle at 1900 block San Marco Road on April 27, 7:46 p.m. The Officer made contact with the driver and observed a strong odor of alcohol. The driver was asked to perform field sobriety tests and failed. Defendant Pete Kocik, 61 of E Pelican Street was placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Theft

Mr. John McDonald reported that a television was stolen from his son’s residence at 990 Baltic Terrace between 11:10 a.m. and 12:50 p.m April 26. Total estimated value of stolen property is approximately $700.00. Investigation continues.

DUI/ Possession of Marijuana

Officers responded to a vehicle accident at 899 N. Collier Blvd. (McDonald’s parking lot) 5:40 p.m. April 26. Officers met with the driver who appeared to be intoxicated. Officers observed several empty bottles of alcohol in the driver’s vehicle. She was asked to perform a field sobriety test and failed. A search revealed the driver was in possession of marijuana. Defendant Katherine Ann Anzalone, 52 of 875 Hyacinth Ct., Marco Island was placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Domestic Battery

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at 1232 Skylark Avenue April 25 at 5:19 p.m. Victim Manuela Torres Gabriel reported that she was struck by Jonathan Rivas, 25 of 1232 Skylark Ave, Marco Island. Rivas fled the area then returned a short time later and was questioned by Officers. The Defendant was placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Theft

Officers responded to a call at 1180 Edington place regarding a theft 10:23 p.m. April 25. Mr. Michael Gozzo, David Powel, and Brian Kovachick reported that someone stole their fishing equipment they had left on the dock. Total estimated value of stolen property is approximately $2650.00. Investigation continues.

Theft

Mr. Werner Langanstrass reported that between 10:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. April 24 someone entered his boat while parked on a trailer in the parking lot at Calusa Island Marina, 385 Angler Court and had stolen various items valued at approximately $340.00. Investigation continues.

Theft

Mr. Robert Schmidt reported that someone entered a work truck parked at 2323 San Marco Road, a construction site between 6:30 p.m. April 23 and 7:00 a.m. April 24. Schmidt reported someone came through a broken window and had stolen equipment and tools valued at approximately $4150.00. Investigation continues.

Possession of Cocaine and Drug Paraphernalia

Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at the Marco Island Yacht Club’s yacht basin, 1400 N. Collier Blvd. at 9:49 a.m. April 22. Officers met with the participants and conducted an investigation. A search revealed cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Both defendants Ladonna Jean Bruza, 39 of 305 Cheswick Place, Oklahoma City, OK and Eric Bonfigio, 39 of 118th St.,Oklahoma City, OK were placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Arrest Warrent Possession of Controlled Substance

During a traffic stop at Goldenrod Ave. and Bald Eagle Drive, 11:00 p.m. April 21, a records check revealed the driver was wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Collier County for failure to appear in court. The records check also revealed the driver’s license was suspended. The driver was found to be in possession of two Florida drivers’ licenses and a non-prescribed controlled substance (hydrocodone). Defendant Daniel Cruz, 22 of 1481 Fourwinds Ave., Marco Island was placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Criminal Arrest Warrant

The Officer conducted a traffic stop (Expired Tag) and made contact with the driver at the 500 block of East Elkcam Circle 7:50 p.m. April 21. A records check revealed the driver was wanted on a warrant out of Collier County for Failure to Appear. Defendant Anthony Aiello, 30 of 14130 Fall Creek Ct., Naples was placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Aggravated Assault

Officers were dispatched to the parking lof of the Crazy Flamingo Bar, 605 Bald Eagle Drive regarding a fight at 12:24 a.m. April 21. Officers conducted an investigation and made contact with victim, William McMann, in the parking lot. McMann reported that he was assaulted by an unknown male subject while assisting another subject who appeared to have been assaulted. The victim was transported to Physicians Regional Hospital for treatment. The subjects involved in the altercation fled the area and were located a short time later. Ezequiel Ramirez, 21 of 5323 Fleming St., Naples was arrested for aggravated assault and transported to the Naples Jail Center.

Possession of Marijuana

While conducting a traffic stop at 10:56 p.m. April 20, a passenger in the stopped vehicle at the 600 block of Bald Eagle Drive became disruptive and uncooperative. A search of his person revealed marijuana. Defendant Robert Hugh Lord, 46 of 1007 Bald Eage Drive was placed under arrest and transported to the Naples Jail Center. The Driver of the vehicle was released at the scene.

Criminal Mischief

Ms. Charla Lancaster reported that someone had damaged her lanai screen door at 137 Bald Eagle Drive sometime between 5:00 p.m. April 20 and 7:00 a.m. April 24. Total estimated value of damage is approximately $150.00.

Theft

Ms. Terry Lynn Braunstein reported that someone had stolen jewelry from her residence at 1351 Merrimac Ave. between 1:00 p.m. April 20 and 11:45 a.m. April 23. Total estimated value of stolen property is approximately $10,550.00. Investigation continues.Theft

Mr. Anthony Aiello reported that someone stole tools from the unsecured bed of his pick-up truck while parked in a garage at 599 S. Collier Blvd. between 10:30 p.m. and 2:30 a.m. April 19 and 20. Total estimated value of stolen property is approximately $700.00. Investigation continues.

DUI

Officers were dispatched to a call involving a vehicle accident at the intersection of Bald Eagle Drive and Elkhorn Court at 11:17 p.m., April 16. The driver of the vehicle exited and attempted to leave the area. An Officer located the subject matching the description of the driver involved in the accident. The Officer made contact and conducted an investigation. The driver failed field sobriety tests. Defendant Ronald Brija, 59 of 4151 Maple, Brookfileld IL was placed under arrest for DUI with property damage and transported to the Naples Jail Center.
