The holiday weekend is past us and now the Marco Island YMCA is gearing up for the final push of tah dah! (drum roll , please) summer camp!

Have you registered your child (children) for the 2008 YMCA Summer Camp? Have you registered your child (children) for the various specialty camps that are offered by the “Y”? You still have time. I know, you are breathing a sigh of relief but time is of the essence. Summer camp 2008 starts on June 2.

There will be 2 divisions offered: K-2 and 3-6 grades. There are 11 weeks of camp and each week has its own theme. Three field trips will be offered to various fun and entertaining places in the area and all campers will get a free t-shirt.

Another camp is scheduled for Manatee Elementary School for grades K-6. This camp is partially funded through a grant from the Naples Children and Education Foundation, Marriott Vacation Club, Crystal Shores and the United Way. Camp time for the Marco Island location is 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and at Manatee Elementary it’s 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. See the Marco’s YMCA calendar for more information.

To register for these programs please stop by the Customer Service desk located at 101 Sandhill Street. Complete information is available online at www.marcoislandymca.org or at the Marco Island YMCA.
