— Marco Island is serving up a canned food drive and a team tennis match for Thanksgiving this year.

Marco Charter Middle School’s seventh grade team is leading a Thanksgiving canned food drive with Spanish teacher Margo Heidenreich. The entire school is participating and the community is encouraged to participate as well.

Non-perishable food may be taken to Marco Island Charter Middle School office, 1401 Trinidad Avenue.

“We have so much to be thankful for and we are trying to help our students realize that also,” said Heidenreich.

She added that local food shelves reported low supplies and the food items will be delivered to St. Matthew’s House in Naples before Thanksgiving.
