Ave Maria’s South Park will hold a “Posh Pets in the Park” event Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where pet owners are encouraged to dress up their animals.

The free event, which is open to the public, will include many activities for dogs and dog owners including pet photos, a smallest and largest dog contest and a Canine Couture Fashion Show, which will award the cutest, funniest and most original outfits.

Representatives from the Shy Wolf Sanctuary and Collier County’s Domestic Animal Services will also be on hand. Proceeds from the event will benefit emergency medical care for homeless animals and other pet initiatives.

All pets are required to be on a six-foot or less, non-retractable leash.
