Darion Hall (9) follows his wall of blockers, including Aaron Hendeson, (77) and Gerard Eustache (69), as Hall breaks the 1,000-yard rushing mark in five games. Lely crushed St. John Neumann, 49-7 at Lely's homecoming. Immokalee will have to stop Hall for the Indians to down Lely Friday night.Roger LaLonde/Staff

Immokalee, four losses, no wins, 0-1 in district play.
A perennial powerhouse and former state champions, the Indians will be looking to even its Class 3A-District 14 record when they travel to Lely for a 7:30 p.m. game on Friday.
Lely, 4-1 and 1-0 in district play, can put themselves in the driver’s seat for at least the second position in the district and win a playoff berth.
The Trojans will face a weak district opponent in Estero on Oct. 24.
Then the Trojans play Naples at home on Nov. 7. If Lely downs Immokalee the Naples game should decide the district title and the top district seed in the playoffs.
But first the Trojans have to get by the pesky Indians.
“Don’t kid yourselves, Immokalee is very dangerous,” Pricer told his players after Friday’s win over St. John Neumann. “They have outstanding athletes and they have a strong tradition.”
During practices this week the Lely coaches have been reminding the players about its season-ending game in 2007.
Naples won the district, on its way to a state championship. Lely, Immokalee and Golden Gate tied for the second spot.
Lely edged Golden Gate in a one-quarter playoff game, but lost to Immokalee, 13-6.
On paper, Lely looks like it has the horses this year and it worries Immokalee Coach Izzy Gallegos.
“Lely is fast and aggressive on both sides of the ball,” Gallegos said. “The defense is speedy and athletic. The measure will be if we can keep up with the tempo.”
On offense there is no secret what Immokalee has to do.
“We have to shut down number 9 (Darian Hall),” Gallegos said. “He has had a tremendous year. We have to stop their running game. They have a good offensive line which will be a real challenge.”
In five games Hall has rushed for 1011 yards. In seven pass catches he has 186 yards. Overall, he has scored 14 touchdowns.
On Lely’s defense, Errol Boyd leads in tackles with 37 — 27 of them solo. Close behind is linebacker Emmanuel Edouard. Although he missed a game, he has 36 tackles, 21 solo.
Pricer again reminded his team this week that games aren’t won on paper.
“They just scare us to death the way they can run the football,” Pricer said. “They have good running backs that run hard.”
Pricer also talks of how his defense has not covered passes thrown down the sidelines.
“The sideline fade passes have been a problem for us,” he said. “We haven’t shown that our safeties can get there to help out.”
Pricer thinks points will be put on the board and he knows his team can score.
“Their concern has to be how we can move the ball with our balanced offense,” Pricer said. “We have been able to put 40 points on the board and our defense can come up with big plays.”
It appears both teams with have their hands full.
