Letter To The Editor: Infamous Marco Island

STORY TOOLS

Mr. Arceri, congratulations! You have single-handedly done more to disrupt the democratic process on Marco Island and made it infamous among other Southwest Florida communities than any other person on the island.

You seem to exercise a lot of influence among city staff and certain council members, which is evidenced by the sheer numbers and content of the hundreds of e-mails you have been sending them and the number of meetings you’ve had both in their offices, on your boat, and in restaurants with them, and their willingness to act on your input. You say you have the right to chat with your representatives, well this went way beyond chatting and exchanging pleasantries.

The fact that our council refuses to publicly admit this was wrong and call for you to stop, shows their support for your behavior. Instead they accuse those who would question your motives and why they allowed it to happen as a personal attack on you and them.

Apparently the people who were elected in January felt they couldn’t get elected without your help and since then have been allowing you to exert your control in a behind the scenes capacity. This does not go along with these same newly elected council member’s promises to “heal the island” when they were elected.

I get the idea that you don’t like the way our government is supposed to work. You don’t seem to understand that just because you think you know best for what should happen here on Marco, in our system of government, you are only one of many and the rest of us are entitled to know and give input into what is happening in our city business. If you think you have an idea of merit, say it in front of the rest of us at the council meetings. You, an ex city councilor, should know that what you were doing was improper.

Mr. Glaub: I suggest that you and your wife get a grip on reality. If you had a grip, you might, for once, do some research and get the facts for which you seem to put yourself forward as an expert. If you call Rony Joel, or City Staff, you will find that it was the City that requested that Mr. Arceri put forth some Volunteerism and his expertise to assist City Staff and our City in some technical evaluations and information as they apply to Utility issues. I speak to Mr. Joel and ask questions. In fact I often offer water opinions and information as that is an area of my expertise. So your letter has no value, no meaning. I guess you and your wife are experts at nothing and have nothing to offer our great City. And as far as MITA is concerned, I'm sure that you and your wife and almost every member of MITA donated to CARES and supported the waste of over $500,000 of our precious TAX DOLLARS in frivolous lawsuits. That shows real concern for our taxes. In addition, the President of MITA (in that capacity), in a published Letter To The Editor, supported a slate of candidates (losers) which is illegal and could have resulted in the elimination of that organization. No, we Islanders do not need to support such an organization.

Ed,
Shut your stupid mouth and don't dare to tell me who I give money to or what org. I might belong to. If you really think the city called upon Arceri than you must believe in the tooth fairy.
Your council sent illegal e mails to all who have their addresses in city hall. How did Arceri get them? I know because I got one begging to vote for the FAB FOUR

dc5799: I was responding to the Letter that Karen Glaub published in thre LTE section of the Marco Eagle. I do not care who you give money to, or what organization you belong to. I do not even know who you are (coward !!). I was merely blogging to anyone that reads anything written by the Glaubs, trying to give an honest perspective and recenyt history of MITA and it's President. I worked on getting the current majority on Council elected and the addresses are Public Record and I know the truth about John's work for the City Staff.
Your response above indicates heart palpatations and I suggest you get the truth and then relax and settle down and enjoy Paradise. Sounds like you are wound up in your own fantasy.

Seems to me the mentally challenged one is Glaub; we now have a positive ID on the anonymous moniker of dc5799.

You mean there's no tooth fairy??

#5 Posted by Montel on October 15, 2008 at 4:03 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Montel and Leroy, want to try again? Mr. Glaub relates historical fact a lot better than Mr. Issler does. But then Issler has a reputation for manipulating facts to suit his purposes. The emails Mr. Glaub refers to clearly show who was giving orders to whom. They also clearly show who initiated what conversations. What makes them even more shamful is that they were written in Mr. Arceri's own hand. It is unfortunate that the citizens of Marco Island fell for all the crap Ed, John and Montel threw at them. Now we all know that what we were warned about would happen. It has happened. City taxes are increasing, unbrideled spending continues and high service fees are the desired solution to lost revenue. Mr. Issler admits that Mr. Arceri has exceptional influence in our local government. That is not good for democracy. Mr. Glaub, you are correct here and you need not defend yourself. We know what you say is true. After all, we live here too and we have no influence.

Amazing, amazing, amazing. I need only say to read what has been written by all parties above. I mean read, read, read. Then decide who put forth facts and who is interjecting their own opinions and interpretations into what has been written. I am writing to all who actually read this section. Again, read, read, read. Then get your own facts.

Yes Montel, there is a Tooth Fairy.

Robert Glaub, like Kiester, McMullan, Columbo, Paret and some of your other miserable friends, you are probably boarderline slanderous with your emotional, not factual letter to the editor regarding a positive and productive citizen on Marco.

What have you, or any of your friends done for Marco Island? NOTHING positive , that's for sure. Arceri is at least trying to assist the city, at the city's request I might add.

MarcoFacts, again you are wrong. "Slander" needs to be an oral untruthful statement. Since you are referring to written matter, you mean libel. Words do mean something and they have different definitions. As for the untruthful comment you wrote, are you committing libel?

Fossil, thank you for once again proving me right on those who do not have a grip on reality being since most of these people verbally speak and print false facts against individuals ,this would fall under a two word phrase known as libel slander.....

#12 Posted by TheVoice on October 19, 2008 at 6:04 p.m. (Suggest removal)

TheVoice, you may use libel/slander; libel, slander; or libel and slander. The phrase "libel slander..." does not exist, unless you just made it up.
