Letter To The Editor: On Mr. Arceri

STORY TOOLS

Er ... Dear Russ Colombo:

I‘ve read your amusing letter suggesting that: “If you can’t stand the heat, get the h--l out of the kitchen!” Not a classy statement, but consideration should be made.

Would it be proper to think that Mr. Arceri’s letter to the City Attorney may not be a complaint? Could Mr. Arceri be properly serving notice to the City of Marco Island through its legal representative about pending legal action that Mr. Arceri may be taking?

Has anyone bothered to ask city staff directly about how Mr. Arceri became involved?

Having been the one that brought the subject of Electric Utility Municipalization before City Council, I did ask Mr. Arceri for advice because he was a former City Council member and because I was aware of his 44-plus years of Electric Utility Experience. Mr. Arceri was gracious in providing me with advice because of the friendship that we developed during the course of my running for office. He has openly stated his love for Marco Island and commented that his advice had no strings attached.

It is my opinion that the animosity that is currently being portrayed by McMullan, etc., is a result of prior disagreements that were manifested in the past and someone seems to neglect that the past is the past and the need for the future.

It is my position that Mr. Arceri has, is and will act properly and has great concern for the well being of Marco Island and not for any personal gain.

Wayne Waldack

Mr. Waldack, you continue to have difficulty getting your ideas across. If you want Mr. Arceri to file suit against Mr. McMullan, say so. What I am curious about is that you imply Mr. Arceri is merely giving notice that he intends to file legal action against our City. Has your mentor stooped to the level of his tormentors? Is he now going to try and extract from our citizens thousands of tax dollars to cleanse his reputation? It is one thing for citizens to file action for the common good, or to change policy as was done in the past. But to do so in the interest of one's own personal interest? Considering his and your prior condemnation of that sort of activity, you both now come accross as being hypocritical and in your mentor's case, egotistical.

wayne, why don't you pick up your phone and call Mr. Columbo (and whomever else you have a bone to pick with) and spare us all your weekly letters to the editor. I don't see any other councilors using letters to the editor as their forum for communication with citizens.

Wayne, only stop writing when the regular complainers like McMullan, Columbo, Glaub and the other city haters stop writing.

Wayne you keep proving to this resident that you are NOT your own man, and further by your letters, an angry old man.

Ha Ha thats funny(not) considering the island is filled with angry old men to lost in the past to except change and unwilling to make way for the future generations that like it or not will take your place in this island paradise, those of you and you know who you are that whine and complain with your nasty spiteful attitudes sicken me and the constant bickering over much needed projects on our island to bring us into the 21st century and keep our surrounding canals and water ways from being polluted and those of you who believe that a septic system with a leech field(LEECHING INTO OUR WATERS)is better than a central contained sewer system where the waste( as in human fecal matter and disposed pharmaceuticals)That can be safely transferred and properly treated need to really pull down the curtain of denial and get educated its not that I do not think your smart its that i feel as if your to caught up in your self ignorance to realize the truth of our responsibility to the future of the island and I know that a most of you will read this and be very negative its in your nature to be but if at least one person reads this and thinks maybe they have a point my job is done........

The Voice, your comments have little or no relevance to the letter Waldack wrote. It appears it is you who is stuck in a time warp. The election is over, the sewer is built. This discussion is about one citizen's inappropriate and extrodinary access to our City staff and City elected officials. Ranting and raving serves no constructive purpose. Get a grip.

On the contrary fossil,it holds perfect relevance lets face it the people complaining about everything and anything here on marco are the same cast of characters that we have been listening to whine and whimper for years they have a grudge and cant let it go so in turn will never be happy with anyone who doesnt agree with them or makes a decision that they dont like. these must be the same people that as children when told by mommy no you cant have that candy threw themselves in the floor and had a hissy fit and embarrassed there parents just as they embarrass our community.....
