Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden will campaign in Fort Myers on Wednesday.

The Delaware senator will host a roundtable discussion on the economy with Lee County residents beginning at 9 a.m. at the Harborside Event Center in Fort Myers. The gathering is not open to the public.

Biden will travel to Sarasota later in the day for an event that is open to the public.

At both events, the Barack Obama presidential campaign will accept non-perishables and other materials such as canned food, bottled water and first-aid supplies to assist families affected by Hurricane Gustav and Tropical Storm Fay.
