I just have to comment on the Goodland Bridge article. My family and I have gone a couple of times to the Saturday music gathering under the bridge.
What a wonderful experience! Some of the area’s most loved and respected musicians play acoustic guitars and people go to enjoy a mellow evening.
The incident that occurred with the baseball bat was most definitely isolated, as the bridge gatherings have gone on for several years without incident. As far as the homeless drug dealer accusation made by Frank Recker, not only are the people that I have seen there not homeless, many of them actually own very pricey homes in both Goodland and Marco.
There are a few locals who also make sure that all of the trash is picked up and it is actually as clean as some of our public parks. It sounds to me like a case of one or two individuals with too much time on their hands who want to spoil things for everyone.
