Adding to the laid-back Marco atmosphere, The Crazy Flamingo is the perfect place to kick back and relax with the locals and tourists, for a unique indoor or outdoor dining experience.
From a wooden bar with a casual setting on one side, to a très chic sushi bar on the other, this multi-faceted place is truly an indulgence for varying palates.
They are open from 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. daily, and offer a full menu until the wee hours of the morning as well as a bar stocked with all types of wine and beer. Happy hour specials can also be found daily, except those nights with live music shows scheduled.
Seating is offered indoor with restaurant-style tables and also seats at the bar. Two tables are reserved for parties of five or more, so larger parties will always be accommodated. Smoking as well as pets are permitted in the outdoor seating section, and don’t fret, should you be hit with the urge for some seafood or wings at midnight, a loudspeaker is in place outside to let you know when your order is up!
Television sets can be found around the bar, creating a prime environment for viewing the big game! A few gaming machines are placed around the bar for your entertainment as well.
The sushi bar is open daily until 10 p.m., but exceptions will be made within reason. Fresh sushi is offered along with salads and appetizers, sashimi and nigiri, maki sushi, specialty rolls and sashimi specials.
With the walls painted in a rich, deep red and bamboo plants elegantly gracing the bar, a unique Oriental touch can be found within The Crazy Flamingo in a type of East-meets-West environment.
One of their featured dishes is the Steamer Pot — a type of “choose your own” seafood smorgasbord.
A full menu is offered daily until 1:40 a.m. Yes, folks, that’s 1:40 a.m. Great dishes range from ice-cold oysters on a half shell to muscles marinara to black beans with rice and garlic bread. The dish this place is probably most known for though, is the wings, which can be ordered mild, scorching hot, or anywhere in between, according to manager James.
Live entertainment varies throughout the year, but can be found Friday and Saturday nights during the summer. The bands vary, but are generally three-piece plus groups. Starting in mid November, entertainment will resume its three nights a week schedule, with certain exceptions in between.
One featured band playing currently is Cadence Wednesday, hailing from Fort Myers. Their unique sounds consists of acoustics and bongos — from what I hear it’s quite the experience.
The Crazy Flamingo is always looking for new entertainment.
Happy hour is from 10 p.m. until close, with $1 domestic drafts as well as $2 domestic bottles. Fifty-cent wings are abundantly cooked as are the 75-cent buffalo nuggets with the optional addition of blue cheese and celery for only $1. Keep in mind these happy hour specials are offered in house only.
In short, The Crazy Flamingo offers great food, great music and this upcoming season will feature diverse music from blues to jazz to rock, continuing to create a great environment for all of Marco.
