Marco teams size up each other on Saturday

The Marco Eagles football teams enjoy a second straight week of playing at home at Winterberry Park on Saturday.

Not only are they at home, but the teams play each other.

Normally the opposition is First Baptist Academy teams, but since each organization fields two teams in each category, every third game the Eagles teams play each other.

The pee wee Gold and Green Eagles kick off the day, playing at 9 a.m. They are followed by the junior Gold and Green Eagles at 10 a.m. and the senior Green and Gold teams at 11:30 a.m.

The pee wee Green Eagles have the edge on the Gold, with a 2-0 mark, while Gold is 1-1.

The junior Gold takes a 2-0 mark into its game against the 1-1 Green Eagles.

The senior teams are looking for their first wins, with both at 0-2.

Tommie Barfield Elementary School PTO members will be operating the new concession stand at the park. Eagles clothing, hats and even badges where individual pictures can be placed will be sold.

Winterberry Park will be used for the first time because renovations are being made at Mackle Park.

Friday the Eagle is featuring the pee wee teams, coached by Greg West and Jim Santimauro. On Wednesday, the newspaper will feature the pee wee cheerleaders, completing the photos for all football and cheerleading teams.

Adam Koszo of Koszo Production has provided all the photos.
