Tae Kwon Do and YoChiDo at Mackle Park

Marco Island Parks and Recreation and Martial Arts for Wellness have partnered together to bring you daily classes on achieving strength, flexibility, coordination, balance, self-defense, and confidence in one-self.

Master instructor Alice Zaimes-Strong is a 4th degree black belt and has over 27 years of teaching experience to all ages and levels. Alice is a former Massachusetts State Champion and has been teaching in our community for the past four years.

Tae Kwon Do for Kids is offered to ages 5-13 years, from 4 to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Cost is $95 a month or $15 a class (drop-ins welcomed).

Tae Kwon Do for adults is offered from 6:15-7 p.m., Wednesday. Cost is $15 a class. Participants registering for classes in Tae Kwon Do pay on a monthly basis with unlimited times to participate in classes throughout the month.

A new class starting at Mackle Park on Tuesday evenings is YoChiDo with Master Alice. Class is offered 6:15-7 p.m., and is $15 a class. YoChi Do focuses on yoga for flexibility and balance, martial arts for strength and toning, and Chi Kung for internal breathing and relaxation.

Make sure you come out to Mackle Park at 11 a.m., Saturday, to see a free 15-20 minute Tae Kwon Do demonstration by our martial arts for Wellness students and to inquire more information on the program.
