The other day I was going to Naples, and as I came off the Jolley Bridge heading north, I noticed a group of people in blaze orange vests picking up trash along 951.
I was thinking they were prisoners doing road work until I saw several ladies in the mix.
When returning to the Island I was mulling this over while stopped at the light on Mainsail Road. Then I noticed an Adopt-A-Highway sign there with the name of Hideaway Beach Community as being the group that tries to keep this portion of 951 clean.
Why don’t more groups take on a project like this? It’s great. Thank you.

thankyou dick...afterall hideaway is on MARCO ISLAND..and not just a gated community that does nothing...we work for cancer drives, guadelupe kids and many other charities...plus paying for the traffic light at kendall (bill moss did that), renourished the tigertail beach, as well as hideaway..and now putting in a public restroom for the public on hideaway property....thanks again, and we'll keep working for the community.
