Let’s keep the good deeds rolling. Whatever you choose to call it — play it forward, give back — it is happening all around Citrus Park. Our residents see a need or an opportunity and they are all over it. The Gray 90’s Repertoire Theatre Company learned a DVD copier could make discs of their productions, Mardi Gras activities, shows, etc and they purchased one. Henry Gagne spearheaded an outstanding money raising event to show our appreciation of the Bonita Springs Fire District and their services to our residents. The Snobirds Square Dancers have been putting up Christmas decorations every year in the clubhouse and they decided they would like to give our decorations a new look next year. Good deeds done by good people, it just makes you want to give them all a group hug.
The Easter Bunny is coming to greet our little visitors, courtesy of Kay Klug. She will be leading the Easter egg hunt, so hop on down to the rec hall Friday morning at 10 AM. Joey’s Clowns will be on hand to put on a really big show for all our visitors, too.
Check out the dinner dance Saturday night, you might want to hide your eyes. The theme for the dance calls for us to wear clothes that clash. (Some folks do that all the time!) Anything that doesn’t match or coordinate is proper attire for this evening. Toe tapping music is guaranteed with the ever popular Joe Turner.
Did you attend the video presentation on pickle ball? Well over 100 residents watched with great interest and learned what the big draw for pickle ball is about. Don Shildhaus is our pickle ball expert so watch for more information to surface in the weeks ahead.
It’s that time of year for – they’re here and they’re not here – my game of cruising around Citrus Park in the golf cart to see who is gone and who is still enjoying our little slice of paradise. With Easter this weekend a large contingent has headed north to the frozen tundra to spend the holiday with family. This is a great time of year to do all the things you didn’t have time to do because of all the activities. Restaurants are a little less crowded and the wait is much shorter. The Gulf of Mexico is warm and the beach is perfect for an afternoon walk or an unforgettable sunset. Whatever turns your crank, get out and enjoy it. Happy Easter.
